About

Finity Frames® is the world’s only modular, wall-mounted display system designed specifically for LEGO® minifigure collectors. Each individual frame can display 88 minifigures, connects to any other frame horizontally or vertically, and grows with your collection – without ever requiring you to start over.

The clear cover is made from UV-stable Perspex® acrylic with built-in UV absorbers that block harmful UV light – protecting your minifigures from the yellowing and fading over time. The magnetic fixing means it lifts off for easy access to your collection. If you want to build out of frame, simply remove the cover.

The frame itself is moulded from ABS plastic treated with UV protectants – so the frame is protected from yellowing alongside your collection. The magnetic cover is made from crystal clear Acrylic Perspex® with UV protection built-in.

ABS plastic is 100% recyclable, as is all cardboard and cardboard pulp packaging.

Any rectangular configuration works – landscape, portrait, or square. A 2×3 (two wide and three high) can also be made as a 3×2 (three wide, two high) with the same pieces. The only rule is that configurations must be rectangular or square. As these are sold as sets, you cannot take – for example – a 2×2 and make four 1x1s from that kit. Each kit contains the exact number of pieces for that configuration, which reduces unnecessary waste.

Each frame has 16 spaces arranged in a 4×4 grid. The internal slats – three horizontal and three vertical – are removable and can be configured 64 different ways – from the standard 16 individual spaces to one large open space spanning the entire frame.

Finity Frames® launches in four configurations – The Starter (1×1), The Collector (2×2), The Lifestyle (2×3 or 3×2), and The Showcase (4×3). Every configuration uses the same patented connection system, so you can add frames at any time and they connect seamlessly.

The four Kickstarter tiers cover the most popular configurations. Use the add-ons for some simple extensions. All other configurations will be available through our pledge manager after the campaign ends.

Yes – that’s one of the key features. Pledge for the configuration that suits today. Add frames whenever your collection grows. The patented connection system means every new frame connects perfectly to your existing display, with no visible joins and no compromise to the aesthetic.

Each frame includes wall-hanging brackets and full instructions. There are clear instructions, and a wall-guide template for precise marking of the hole locations. The system is designed for straightforward installation on standard wall types. A spirit level is recommended – and if we hit that stretch goal, we’ll include a branded one with every order.

What fits inside?

Each 1×1 frame holds up to 88 minifigures depending on how you configure the internal slats and how many figures you place per space. At the clean gallery standard of one figure per space, a 1×1 holds 16. Remove the vertical slats and use jump plates, and you can fit 88.

1×1 Starter
Display up to 88 minifigures

2×2 Collector
Display up to 352 minifigures

3×2 Lifestyle
Display up to 528 minifigures

4×3 Showcase
Display up to 1,056 minifigures

Yes – Each space is six bricks and two plates high, which accommodates the vast majority of minifigure headgear, hair pieces, and accessories. A small number of very oversized elements may require removing an adjacent slat to create a larger space. Lord Garmadon – double-height body, full samurai headgear fits.

Yes – Big Figs, wide and tall minifigure fit, and the magnetic cover still closes. Some are too big for the cover to be placed back on, such as the 1999 Rock Monster, and Jabba (his belly will poke out), The general rule is – if it’s more than 6 studs deep, it will poke out.

No! You can display any small-scale collectibles and create, and curate, your own cabinet of curiosities. Spaces are 64mm square and 55mm deep. If you remove slats, then double-spaces are 139mm (high or wide).

Production

Steve – a designer, inventor, and LEGO® minifigure collector based in Perth, Australia. After forty years of collecting and too many minifigures living in bags, boxes, and drawers, he built the display system he couldn’t find anywhere else. Finity Frames is patented, prototype-tested, and ready for DFM refinement and then production.

Finity Frames® is a patented, injection-moulded product. The tooling costs for the molds are significant, and Kickstarter lets us validate demand and – most importantly – find out what people might want. With that knowledge we can optimise the injection molds to mitigate waste and maximise efficiency. This also extends to the packaging, as the demand will inform us on the optimum sizing.

Together with our specialist Product Design, Engineering and Manufacturing partner, Invention Steps in Brisbane, Australia – who we have worked with for over four years – we have chosen a factory in China who have significant and relevant experience in making injection-molded ABS plastic parts at small scale. Invention Steps have been integral to the design, engineering and prototyping of Finity Frames.

We’re targeting delivery within five to seven months of the campaign closing, subject to production timelines. We’ll communicate progress openly and regularly throughout – you’ll never be left wondering what’s happening. That’s broad, but there is one key process – the injection mold making – that can be as swift as a month, or as long as four months.

The process is currently at what’s called DFM stage – Design For Manufacture. DFM will broadly take about a month to finalise.

Making (and testing) the injection molds is around 60-120 days.

Printing (making the parts) about 30 days. Packaging design and any other administration or logistics will run concurrent with all other processes. Add 30 days for quality control shipping, customs and wiggle room.

LEGO®

Yes – every dimension in Finity Frames is derived from LEGO brick mathematics. Each space is exactly 64mm × 64mm – the same as a 6×8 LEGO plate. The internal slats are exactly one brick wide and the frame edges are exactly two bricks wide, meaning builds connect seamlessly between spaces and between frames. Finity Frames is fully compatible with the LEGO® System of Play.

Yes. As a collector, I’m also quite the purist. Only official LEGO® parts will be supplied as free rewards – the 6×8 plates, 1x2x1 foot plates and 3×4 ‘ffounder’ minifigure plates. Jens – the pad printed minifigure – is also made only from original, official LEGO® parts.

No. Finity Frames is an independent product created by a LEGO® minifigure collector. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor or endorse Finity Frames.
